    1. Anna Bay Beach The dunes behind Birubi Beach at Anna Bay constitute the largest coastal sand mass in NSW and are a popular spot for activities such as quad-biking, sand-boarding, 4WD touring and camel rides.
    2. Fingal Bay Beach A near-perfect C-curve of sand that faces southeast, Fingal Bay Beach has its own island connected by a sand-spit and is well protected from all but a hefty southeast wind. The aptly-named “Kiddies Corner” at the south end is completely sheltered and it draws mums and dads with nippers in tow. The spit at the north end which links Fingal Island to the mainland gets decent waves when the sand builds up.
    3. Port Stephens Beaches Port Stephens features more than 30km of white sandy beaches. Its bay is home to about 150 bottlenose dolphins. Between May and June, humpback whales cruise past the town on their northern migration, returning south between September and November. The area has a host of accommodation and dining options

  • Horse Riding: Only a 5 min drive from the park is Sahara Trails. Rides all weather, all ages and riding levels catered for, helmets provided, koala sightings on bust trails. Coastal dune and beach ride, 1 hour Aussie bush trail, 1.5 hour scenice lagoon ride, pony rides.
  • Sand Safaris & Quad Biking: Experience an unforgettable tour of Stockton Sand Dunes. The dunes are up to 1km wide, 32km long and cover an area of over 4,200 hectares, it must be seen to be believed! Entry to the dunes is from Anna Bay. You need a permit to drive on the dunes. Tours include visits to Tin City, WWII Tank Traps, movie sites (such as Mad Max) and the Norwegian Sygna Shipwreck. An all weather activity for all the family.   • Dolphin & Whale Watching: Port Stephens is known as the Dolphin Capital of Australia with a resident Bottlenose Dolphin population of around 100. Large pods of common dolphins can be seen on offshore cruise. Humpback whales can be seen 7 months of the year during their migration along the east coast of Australia.   • Parasailing: Port Stephens Parasailing take high flyers either solo or tandem soaring up to 150m above the water. No experience is necessary as you are harnessed into the ballooning parachute and winched into the air by a speed boat. This enables parasailers to see Port Stephens from a rare and fascinating angle. Chicken tickets available to observe only.   • Oakvale Farm & Fauna World: Get up close and personal with cuddly farm animals and the wide array of Australian wildlife. Feeding shows are at 11am and 2pm daily in an undercover stadium. Open everyday from 10am to 5pm and only a 20 minute drive from BIG4 Soldiers Point Holiday Park. Hand milk cows, bottle feed baby animals, pat koalas and take a tractor trailer ride around the farm.   • Australian Shark & Ray Centre: Touch or play with sharks, rays, seahorses and fish in a safe environment. An incredible experience where you can wade, snorkel or scuba dive whilst handfeeding and playing with Sharks, octopus, rays, eels, cuttlefish, fish & seahorses. Kids from 3 years can snorkel with some of the cutest and most feared animals found in the ocean. Beginneers scuba diving is available for kids over 12 years. Open daily from 9am to 5pm.   • Toboggan Hill Park: Open 7 days, 10am to 5pm in Summer and school holidays. Open 10am to 4pm Wed-Sun from April to September. Tobogganing, indoor rock climbing, electronic games, giant maze, mini golf, plaster painting, tractor train and kiosk. Only a 5min drive from the Park. Ph: 02 4984 1022
  • Winery & Vineyard: Divers Luck Winery is only a 10 min drive from the park located on Nelson Bay Rd, Bobs Farm. Open 7 days from 10am. Port Stephens Winery is located at 3443 Nelson Bay Rd, Bobs Farm and is open daily for tasting from 10am. They also showcase boutique wines from small independently owned Australian Wineries.
  • Fishing: Kunara Charters offer Deep sea fishing, game fishing, dive chaters, with all fishing gear, rods and bait supplied. Fishing licence is included also. Every charter is fully equipped and fully catered. Limited to 12 passengers. Ph: 0408 496 716
  • Diving: Whether you are an experienced diver or if you want to try it for the first time, Feet First Dive can help you. They have daily boat dives to nearby islands, snorkelling tours, guided shore dives in the marine reserve, scuba and snorkelling hire and scuba diving training. Depart from Nelson Bay.   • Surfing: Learn to surf at One Mile Beach with Anna Bay Surf School. One Mile Beach is a patrolled beach which is protected from Southerly winds and large sea swells making it a very beginner friendly beach. All the instructors are experienced and Accredited Surfing Australia Level 1 coaches. The instructors are in the water with you the whole time with 1 instructor to 8 students in group lessons.   • Nelson Head Inner Lighthouse Cottage: Nelson Head Inner Lighthouse Cottage has panoramic views of the entrance to Port Stephens and has heritage displays of local history. It is National Trust Classified and has a small maritime museum. T he tea room and gift shop is open daily. Entry is free, however donations are appreciated. Open daily from 10am to 4pm. Ph: 02 4981 3585. It is also the radio base for the Coastal Patrol.
